12 / Recovery Guide

Restore access with your seed phrase.

A visual, non-technical walkthrough for the one thing only you can control: your 24-word recovery seed. Follow it once, get it right, and your data stays recoverable by you alone.

01

Read the security briefing

Before your seed appears, you'll see a short walkthrough explaining why recovery can't be reset by anyone but you. Read it fully — it sets the rules of the whole recovery path.

02

Generate your 24-word seed

Your device creates a list of 24 ordinary words. This is not a password you choose — it's generated locally and mathematically reconstructs your encryption key.

03

Write it on paper, offline

Write every word, in order, on paper. Never type it into a phone note, email draft, cloud document, or screenshot. The moment it touches a connected device, it can be copied.

04

Store it somewhere only you control

Keep the paper in a safe, a sealed envelope, or a lockbox — somewhere physical that only you can reach. Treat it like the only key to everything you've stored.

05

To restore access later

If you lose your device or forget your password, enter your 24 words during recovery. Your device rebuilds the key locally and unlocks your vault. The seed never leaves your hands.

The part that can't be undone

There is no email reset, no SMS code, and no operator override for your seed. If you lose the 24 words, no one — including SecureIDsafe — can restore your data. That is the trade that makes the recovery path yours alone: total responsibility in exchange for total custody.

Never

Store the seed in a cloud note, email, or photo

Never

Share a word of it with anyone — including support

Always

Keep one offline copy you can find in an emergency

Your recovery, step by step

When you need to restore, the process is the same five steps in reverse: open recovery, enter your 24 words in order, and your device rebuilds your key and unlocks your vault — all locally, all without sending the seed anywhere.
